A client wanted to build a sandbag house and oversee the project and get involved as much as possible. It was a simple design by a local architect in the area with a large central kitchen/living space book ended by two ensuite bedrooms. At the time we had no base to make the EcoBeams so we took our 6m jig table to the site, and a bakkie load of pressed steel lattice and taught the local builder who was building the unit how to make EcoBeams. When the beams were complete we then facilitated the frame erection and the bag filling. All other elements in the build were conventional, apart from the cob internal walls and green roof which came out beautifully. This is an example of a build that we didn't build ourselves but the sandbag/EcoBeam elements were facilitated, allowing clients and builders to learn alike.
